🎓 Eligibility Criteria
1. Minimum Educational Qualification
- General Candidates: Must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] or its equivalent from a recognized Board or Council with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- SC / ST(P) / ST(H) Candidates: A relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate is allowed (minimum 45%).
- Important Note: Marks secured in any optional, extra, or fourth subjects are strictly excluded while calculating the qualifying aggregate percentage.
2. Age Limit (As of 1st July, 2026)
- Minimum Age: Candidate must not be less than 18 years.
- Maximum Age: Candidate must not be more than 34 years.
- Age Relaxation: There is a relaxation of 2 years in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC, ST(P), and ST(H) categories.
3. Residency Requirement
- Only candidates who are permanent residents of Assam are eligible to apply.

An application fee of Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) is mandatory for candidates of all categories. The fee must be paid strictly through online payment modes (Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI) while submitting the online application form.
📍 Test Venue & Seat Allocation
The Venue for the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2026 will be allocated within the specific "District" selected by the candidates during the submission of their online application form. The designated center name will be explicitly stated on the candidate's Admit Card. Seats will be allotted to selected candidates across NCTE-recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET, CTE, Normal School, BITE, BTC, or Private TEIs) located within that district.
