DISCIPLINE
Meaning: Discipline is the habit of action according to some rules of orders; it implies implicit obedience to the orders of proper authority. In every walk of life, we have to act according to some rules and orders. Obedience and submission to some rules and orders is called discipline. It means order everywhere.
Its value: Discipline is of great importance in every walk of life. There can be no peace and happiness in the family if there is no discipline there. All the members must obey the head of the family. If they do not, they will bring ruin upon the family. Strict discipline must be maintained at school. Without discipline children will grow up wild and unruly. Children must obey the rules of the school without discipline they cannot progress in study. Without discipline they cannot form their character. A school loses its good name if there is no discipline. There must be discipline in the playground. The players must obey the captain.
Discipline is of supreme importance in the army. Every soldier must implicitly obey the commands of his superior without asking the reason why. In the army everyone has to pass through a very strict discipline. A disciplined army can win victory in the battlefield, and it is a great source of strength to the country. If there is no discipline among the soldiers they cannot win any battle.
An army without discipline is useless mob. It is the source of weakness and danger to its own side. A government cannot run without discipline. No nation can rise without discipline. People must follow their leaders. Discipline is of the utmost importance for the stability of the society. The laws and orders of the society must be obeyed by every member of it. If every man wishes to govern and none to obey, the society will fall to pieces. No work can be done without discipline.
Conclusion: Children should be trained in the habit of discipline as early as possible. Children who are allowed to have their own ways in all things will become unruly and will commit all sorts of excess. They will be of no use to society. So, they must learn the lesson of discipline first at home. Discipline at home makes for the future greatness of a boy. It forms his character and makes him a fit citizen.
